Comprehensive exams

Are your gums red, swollen, or bleeding? You may have periodontal disease. At Rock Springs Periodontics, we treat all kinds of periodontal diseases that can affect your gums or the bone that supports your teeth.

Factors that can affect your gum health

  • Poor Oral Hygiene

  • Tobacco use

  • Genetics

  • Pregnancy

  • Chronic stress and poor diet

  • Diabetics and underlying medical issues

  • Grinding teeth

  • Some medications

The area around your tooth is prone to plaque- a sticky film that contains oral bacteria. If the plaque is not removed, it gets hardened into calculus or tartar. When both plaque and tarter are not removed, they begin to eat at your gums or bone.

Get treated immediately to prevent the condition from deteriorating.

Get Diagnosed by an experienced Periodontist

You can check and see if your gums are healthy by getting a periodontal probe done by a professional periodontist. Dr. Haque can measure the depths of the gum pockets surrounding each tooth. If the pocket depth is 3mm or less, your gums are healthy. If the pocket is deeper or is bleeding you may have periodontal disease.

The deeper the gum pocket, the more severe the disease. We have high-end X-rays to evaluate the condition of the jaw bone and detect of any other problems exist.

What to expect at a comprehensive exam:

  • oral care screening

  • Evaluation of gum pocket depths and gum tissue health

  • Dental x-rays

  • Examination of existing restorations

  • Plaque and Tarter removal above and below the gum line

  • Oral hygiene recommendation
